Overview

Kennel Assistant role - working as part of our existing team.We are a small kennels specialising in large breed dogs.
Basic duties to include but not limited to:-

Poo picking.

Cleaning duties .

Mopping and hosing the runs.

Cleaning down the exercise yard.

Making up feeds.

Time specific- Administering medication when needed.

Washing of bedding etc.

Exercising of the dogs in our secure yard.

Keeping daily records up to date

Assisting with vet visits- Enrichment activities

Monitoring of the dog's health and behaviour, following protocols to inform the management of any changes.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces. Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Ensure all animals are secure and comfortable during their stay. Assist in administering medications as directed by veterinary staff. Participate in training sessions to enhance animal care skills.

Qualifications

Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred but not essential. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with pet owners. Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and manage large or active animals safely. A genuine passion for animal welfare and an understanding of their needs. Ability to work well as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
