Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Temporary Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service. This role involves working closely with animals in a kennel environment, ensuring their well-being and comfort while maintaining a clean and safe space.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and cats. Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area, including cleaning kennels, bedding, and play areas. Monitor the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff as necessary. Assist with customer service duties, including greeting clients and answering questions about services offered. Handle heavy lifting when moving animals or supplies as required. Ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a secure environment for both animals and staff.

Experience

Previous experience in animal care or veterinary settings is preferred but not essential; training will be provided. Customer service skills are essential for interacting with pet owners effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting and engage in physical activity throughout the shift is required. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare is crucial for success in this role.

We are looking for 5 days a week; Sunday to Thursday 8am to 3pm. This is on a temporary basis until September however we may be able to offer part time hours from October to March then it would be full time again from April to September.

Pay: 22,225.00-23,000.00 per year
