Key Stage 2 Teacher

Abbotsholme is a co-educational, boarding and day school set in a large, beautiful estate on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border. We are committed to a holistic philosophy of education, striving to nurture and develop pupils' strengths and abilities through excellence in academic studies, superb pastoral care and a unique and broad-ranging extra-curricular programme.

We are seeking a well-qualified, creative, enthusiastic, experienced candidate with a good knowledge of Key Stage 2. The chosen teacher will be expected to take responsibility for a mixed year class in KS2, developing and teaching a broad and differentiated curriculum that satisfies the requirements of the National Curriculum, and National Literacy and Numeracy Strategies. The aim of this role is to provide a caring and stimulating educational environment and deliver a broad and balanced curriculum which enables all children to develop their full potential.

The successful candidates will be likely to fit the following profile:



A love of working with children is essential, as is a sense of humor and flexible approach to work;

Have KS2 experience and a secure understanding of current educational issues and best practice in Primary School;

Use innovative practices that inspire pupils' learning and enable outstanding progress for each child regardless of ability;

Possess the energy, enthusiasm and commitment to put children's learning and development at the heart of everything they do;

Have proven ability to develop effective professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents;

Have secure knowledge of use of IT to support teaching and learning, and how to apply IT knowledge to all planning, preparation and assessments;

Be well organized, motivated and a have keen sense of working in a team;

Have the motivation to embrace and add to new initiatives within the Prep School.
