We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. Responsibilities
Ensure all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, utensils, and equipment, are kept clean and hygienic at all times.
Assist with washing dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware efficiently and promptly.
Support food preparation activities by assisting with basic tasks such as peeling, chopping, or organising ingredients under supervision.
Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
Help with the organisation of storage areas to ensure items are stored safely and correctly.
Support the overall cleanliness of the kitchen environment to meet health and safety standards.
Assist with other general duties as directed by senior kitchen staff to facilitate smooth service delivery.
Requirements
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; a keen willingness to learn is essential.
Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting or moving items around the kitchen.
