We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, supporting the culinary team to deliver excellent service. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience within a dynamic restaurant or hotel setting, with a focus on food preparation, kitchen maintenance, and supporting culinary operations.
Duties
Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor.
Support the organisation of the kitchen by tidying workstations and ensuring all areas are clean and safe.
Help with waste disposal and recycling processes in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Support the serving staff during busy periods by clearing tables and assisting with general hospitality duties when required.
Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all staff members.
Light prep work like making fresh pasta, preparing vegetables, making arancini.
Requirements
Previous experience in a food service or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking, and kitchen hygiene standards is desirable.
Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or other hospitality venues will be considered a plus.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
Good organisational skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary.
A genuine interest in hospitality and culinary operations is preferred.
