Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-functioning kitchen environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth food service operations and upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and food service, with experience or interest in culinary environments such as restaurants, hotels, or catering settings.

Duties

Wash, clean, and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients when needed. Support the kitchen team during busy periods by bussing tables and clearing plates in dining areas. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to prevent cross-contamination and ensure safety compliance. Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to keep the kitchen tidy. Support catering and banquet setups by organizing supplies and assisting with food service logistics. Follow all health and safety regulations related to food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols.

Qualifications

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, hotel, or catering environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of basic cleaning procedures and food handling practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting heavy items. Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends if needed; reliability is key.
