The Pen & Pencil is currently looking for a Kitchen Porter to join the team. We are an independent bar/restaurant in the heart of Manchester's buzzing Northern Quarter and we have a great reputation for brunch, lunch, cocktails, music, events and private hire.

The Restaurant and Bar is fun, friendly, stylish and lively. We have established ourselves as a great place for food & drink, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

Liaising with the kitchen team you will be expected to do the following

Cleaning kitchen both during and after service

Maintaining the food storage areas

Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen

Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher

Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly

Basic food preparation

Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers

Supporting the chefs in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items

Providing assistance to kitchen staff as needed
