Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring all food items are prepared according to recipes and quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including work surfaces, equipment, and utensils. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all customers and staff. Support chefs in various culinary tasks, including chopping, mixing, and cooking ingredients as required. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies when necessary. Participate in catering events as needed, providing excellent service and support during meal preparation. Collaborate with team members to create a positive working environment that fosters teamwork and communication.

Skills

Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations. Previous experience in a culinary or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new culinary techniques. Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within the kitchen operations.
