An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cellular Pathology Department for a Laboratory Healthcare Support Worker, Band 2.
This is a permanent 37.5 hours per week post, worked over Monday to Friday.
We are a busy routine Histology and Diagnostic Cytology department processing 38,000 specimens per year. The HCSW role is primarily to facilitate the throughput of histology and Diagnostic Cytology specimens through the laboratory and on to the reporting consultants.
Main duties will include working within specimen reception, undertaking the unpacking, checking and registration steps required for the specimens. The role also includes tissue block and microscope slide filing, the receipt and unpacking of consumables, telephony and general housekeeping duties.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
