We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a solid background in landscape maintenance. This role requires an individual who is adept at managing teams, has excellent project management skills, and can interpret landscape drawings and site plans effectively. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance is carried out to the highest standards, thereby minimising downtime and enhancing operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the landscape maintenance teams, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
Manage schedules effectively, ensuring that all contractual needs are delivered.
Develop and implement machinery maintenance schedules to ensure all equipment is serviced regularly.
Manage stock of consumables within our warehouse ensuring minimal downtime due to improper tool management.
Manage maintenance projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
Create and nurture excellent working relationships with regular customers.
Conduct regular inspections of machinery, vans and equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate.
Collaborate with landscape installation department to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
Train team members on best practices for maintenance activities including mowing, strimming, pruning and health & safety.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a maintenance management role or similar position.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various types of machinery.
Proficient in horticultural best practice.
Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
Proficient in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication across all levels of the organisation.
Ability to maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong analytical skills.
The majority of our contracts are within the house building sector. Some experience within this sector would be advantageous but not essential.
