The church is looking for a Lay Community Worker to work alongside the leadership team to build an intergenerational church, with strong links to the wider community. This post offers an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the life of the church community, working with the congregation, the leadership team and the minister.
The person we are looking for must be:
A committed and practising Christian, comfortable with working within the Methodist church
*Able to work alone, but as part of a wider team
Trained (or willing to train) in all aspects of Safeguarding, including risk assessment
Flexible in regard to hours of work
Possessed of excellent interpersonal skills and able to relate to people of all ages
Able to demonstrate relevant experience
An enhanced DBS disclosure and disbarring check will be required for this post.
The post is for a fixed term of 3 years, subject to extension following a review and available funding.

Both churches will consider offering both posts to the same person to create a full time position. For this to be considered, the applicant will need to demonstrate the ability to work across the two bases and manage priorities accordingly.
