The Role
This role would suit a skilled
carpenter or multi-trade builder
who is ready to step up into more responsibility and grow into a
Site Manager position
. You will start by taking on lead responsibilities on site -- running day-to-day operations under the Director's guidance -- and gradually take on more site management, client liaison, and coordination duties as you progress.
You'll be hands-on, setting the bar high for workmanship, while learning to manage subcontractors, staff, and client relationships. This is an opportunity to grow into a senior role while working on some of Bristol's most interesting sustainable construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead by example on site, setting high standards of workmanship and professionalism
Take day-to-day responsibility for site operations, with support from the Director
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, architects, and suppliers
Keep accurate site records, sketches, and reports using digital tools
Learn and develop site management skills with training and mentoring
Contribute to sustainable construction practices and problem-solving
Person Specification
Background:
Strong carpentry or trade background (NVQ3 or equivalent desirable) with experience leading small teams or projects
Organisation:
Able to plan ahead, prioritise tasks, coordinate people and resources efficiently
Setting out skills:
Competent in interpreting drawings, measuring, marking, and laying out work accurately for high-performance construction and retrofit
Competence in Microsoft Office essential; ability to sketch details; familiarity with SketchUp an advantage
Progression mindset:
Ambition to grow into a Site Manager role with training and support
Qualifications
Essential:
Full UK driving licence; GCSE Maths & English, NVQ3 or demonstrable equivalent experience
Desirable:
Retrofit training; SSSTS/SMSTS; First Aid; PASMA; plant operator or other site safety tickets, other construction qualifications

35,000 - 40,000
