THE OPPORTUNITY

In this exciting role as a Lead Hardware Design Engineer, you will be at the forefront of JLR taking on a role that shapes the digital platforms on which we deliver the next generation of JLR Vehicles across our house of brands.

You will have the opportunity to work in an agile squad, that assesses, and develops new vehicle network technologies to be utilised throughout the JLR digital platform.

Within the squad you will be responsible for authoring, developing & owning the Physical Layer requirements for Network Technologies. Defining requirements for the Digital Platform and individual Vehicle Architecture\'s at an early stage, and then working with the component teams to deliver the network capability via their products onto the Digital Platform.

WHAT TO EXPECT

You are responsible for the design, validation and maintenance of the network specific hardware requirements and test cases for JLR that will be used in the specifications used to source all networked components.

You will need to work within cross functional teams to identify, document and validate the constraints and capability of each new network technology and effectively communicate these throughout the business in order to shape the definition of the next digital platform.

You are responsible for leading the physical network qualification activities for new technologies across the V, including co-ordination of commercial activities with the procurement team.

Your tasks include supporting component and supplier teams in the application of the requirements and queries that arise from the completion of unit level test cases as well as the central integration team\'s system level testing.

WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

Significant experience in analog and digital circuit technology and design, as well as the design of Automotive Network Interfaces.

Awareness of Automotive Network Technology & Semiconductors products and subsequent requirements desirable.

Understanding of Industry standards associated with Vehicle Network Interface design.

Understanding of development, simulation and test methods used to qualify component designs and network technologies desirable.

Experience in development and validation of electronic control units for automotive applications.

Understanding of development, simulation and test methods used to qualify component designs and network technologies desirable.

Ability to work across distributed teams as well as independently with a motivated and structured way of working with a desire to understand and introduce new technology.
