We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, with a passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to food safety. As the Lead Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Duties



Lead and supervise the kitchen team, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment. Implement innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation. Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards. Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs to maximise profitability. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen. Train and mentor kitchen staff, promoting professional development and teamwork. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction. Monitor kitchen performance, making adjustments as necessary to improve efficiency and quality.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Lead Chef or in a similar leadership role within a restaurant environment. Strong culinary skills with a comprehensive understanding of food production techniques. Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and staff training. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams.

The PalmHouse restaurant is open Monday- Sunday , 9.30-4.40pm, the Chefs hours will be approx 8am - 4.30pm, 5 days a week including weekends.

The business is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New years Day, and does not open on evenings except for events which are Thursdays -Sundays but subject to bookings which are not every week.

The role would suit a talented Sous Chef ready for their first Lead Chef position, or a Lead chef looking for a role without split shifts and more favourable hours.

The tronc scheme is very lucrative and can be worth up to 3 per hour on top of the basic salary, paid monthly (included in the 35 ,000 - 42,000)

Pay: 32,000.00-40,000.00 per year
