As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in helping students overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the teaching staff and SEN specialists, providing one-on-one support and guidance to students with complex needs. Your assistance will empower them to develop essential academic, social, and life skills, fostering their independence and self-confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised support and assistance to students with complex needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment by adapting teaching materials and strategies to suit individual requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement personalised education plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Facilitate students\' engagement in classroom activities and promote their participation in extracurricular events.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, establishing trust and rapport to encourage their personal and social development.
Essential Requirements
  • Prior experience working with children with complex needs, ideally within a school or educational setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and empowering children with diverse learning requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, ensuring a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • A relevant qualification or willingness to undertake necessary training (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
To be considered for this position you will:
- have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system
- Be a committed professional
- Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person
-Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work)
-have satisfactory references
-have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
