Dairy Partners are a long established family owned British dairy company supplying UK and overseas markets. We manufacture a range of pasta filata cheese products including mozzarella and pizza cheese in various formats for some of the leading food companies across the globe.



We work in close partnership with British dairy farmers as well as customers delivering healthy cheese and other dairy products.

Reporting to the Section Leader/ Shift Manager, the Team Leader will be responsible for the management and control of the specific team and area under their control including:



ensuring that products are manufactured to the correct safety, legality, integrity and quality standards. training and development needs. ensuring efficient production that achieves agreed KPI's. efficiently operate and maintain production machinery to manufacture quality products. carry out routine and general line operator maintenance and support the Engineering team during planned and unplanned maintenance. ensure that production processes function at their optimum level through the proper allocation of skills during shift periods, to minimise disruption, delays and waste, whilst adhering to the required quality standards at all times.


This role is also responsible and accountable for the delivery of Safety, Quality and Production targets for a manufacturing team. This will be achieved through coordination of Materials, Production plan, Changeovers etc; to maximise production targets; and effective, informed decision making.



There may be a requirement to cover the Section Leader role during holiday/sickness periods.



Initial training period will be on day shift - 4 weeks.

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities:



Responsible for the effective operation and basic maintenance of production machinery. To communicate daily with the engineering team to highlight any potential engineering issues. To safeguard food safety & Product quality. Working to defined procedures. To demonstrate effective teamwork. To maintain work area standards. Encouraging best practice by example and working towards the achievement of the team's overall objectives and standards. To oversee the effective and efficient use of all machinery, ensuring optimum line performance is achieved and the improvements to plant and business processes continue. Ensuring that the factory is clean and tidy in accordance with the hygiene and cleanliness rules. Ensuring the safety and hygiene on site is monitored and maintained to a high standard. Assist in the compliance with all relevant internal and external standards GMP, ISO, HACCP, Allergen Controls, Environmental checks, Food Safety Audits, QMS and Health & Safety. Advise and work with rest of Management team on issues that require addressing to ensure compliance with business needs to produce safe and legal products at the required quality within agreed budgeted targets. Develop and implement training plans with the Training Coordinator to enable employees to improve their skills and provide flexibility in covering all roles across all shifts. (Section Leader Cover).
Providing support to ensure that production staff adequately trained in a timely manner and records kept as specified in the training plan. Planning and consideration of staff succession in key roles to ensure continuity of knowledge and experience within the department. Record and monitor plant efficiency, record and analyse plant breakdowns, delays and stoppages. Escalate any serious issues on site to Senior Management Team. Monitor wastage levels within the production department which includes floor waste, energy, chemicals, ingredients, time and people and ensure agreed KPI's are met or exceeded.






Requirements:

Similar role with experience of FMCG processing/filling/packing plant site services. Proven ability to complete basic engineering maintenance tasks and production line changeovers. Excellent communication skills at all levels with a strong team working ethic. Previous experience of manufacturing operations. Ability to communicate within a structured team. Ability to follow instruction and work using own initiative. Must be able to work calmly and professionally in challenging or high-pressure situations.
