Job Description

This is a full time, permanent position commencing asap. You will be required to work Tuesday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm, Saturday 8am - 4pm. Some flexibility from time to time may be required to attend off site sales.



An opportunity has arisen for an Administrator to support our Livestock and Machinery Sales department and be part of our Agricultural & Professional team in our busy office in Sedgemoor, North Petherton. The role is key to the success of the department in providing excellent service to both external and internal customers. This is a demanding role in a busy environment.



Specific tasks include:




Preparing and producing sale catalogues for both dairy and machinery sales. Attending auctions and running the back office for auction sales. Using MS Word and Excel to generate reports, catalogues and schedules, prepare letters for onward transmission using MS Outlook. Preparing documents and marketing particulars dictated via audio. Administering online auctions, handling enquiries both pre/post-sale. Providing general administrative assistance to a team of Surveyors and Auctioneers.




The Person:



The ideal candidate will have a great attitude to work, be personable and extremely keen to learn with an interest or background in farming being an advantage. The right candidate ideally needs to have previous experience in working in a busy multi-disciplined department.





Skills & Abilities:




Excellent copy and audio typing skills. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Organised and methodical. Client focused both internally and externally. Proven track record in secretarial/administrative support. Carrying out tasks with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy. Ability to operate to strict deadlines. Ability to work under own initiative.
