Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires strong communication skills and a good understanding of vehicle operation. The Local Driver will also assist in warehouse operations as needed.

Duties

Operate van to deliver goods to designated locations. Ensure all deliveries are completed in a timely manner while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with office, onsite staff regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe working condition. Assist in loading and unloading goods at the warehouse or delivery sites, ensuring proper handling of items. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents that occur during transport. Provide support in warehouse operations as required, including inventory management and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

Valid driving licence with experience in van driving preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is advantageous. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a fast-paced environment. A good understanding of local routes and traffic patterns is beneficial.
