Job Overview
A methodical and computer-literate Warehouse & Logistics Coordinator, adept at organising transport bookings, preparing consignment paperwork, compiling packing lists and supporting day-to-day warehouse operations. This role focuses on operational support rather than deep stock control, making it ideal for someone looking to grow within logistics administration.
Key ResponsibilitiesTransport & Dispatch
Book and schedule carriers for collections and deliveries
Prepare and issue consignment notes, packing lists and delivery paperwork
Track shipments in transit and update internal teams and customers
Operational Support
Help process goods-in and goods-out paperwork accurately and file it appropriately
Support periodic stock checks and simple cycle counts when required
Co-ordinate with warehouse operatives to prioritise daily workloads
Administrative Duties
Maintain electronic records of orders, bookings and delivery schedules in the WMS
Produce basic reports on delivery performance and carrier efficiency
Provide general office support: data-entry, filing, scanning and document control
Liaison & Communication
Act as primary contact for internal departments (Sales, Customer Service) and external carriers
Escalate any transport or scheduling issues promptly to the Operations Manager
Assist in resolving minor discrepancies in dispatch documentation
Person SpecificationExperience
Some exposure to warehousing, logistics or transport
Familiarity with basic warehouse processes: goods-in/goods-out, picking and packing
Skills & Attributes
Exceptionally well organised with good attention to detail
Competent in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and quick to learn new systems
Clear communicator, both written and verbal
A proactive team-player who adapts easily to changing priorities
Desirable
Experience of ERP or warehouse management software
Understanding of UK transport documentation (CMR, consignment notes, packing lists)
