We have a fantastic opportunity for two passionate and caring individuals to join our team as one of two Edna Dawes Lunch Club Team Leaders. Our Lunch Club, based at Fairford Hospital, welcomes members twice a week to social activities and a prepared hot meal, to encourage a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing. The candidate is not expected to prepare any meals.
The Friends of Fairford and Lechlade Communities is a local charity providing health and social care to the local community. This is a varied and exciting role and you will be instrumental in successfully reinstating the Lunch Club as it was paused at the start of the COVID19 pandemic.
You will be responsible for the day to day running of the lunch club, supported and encouraged to develop in your role by the General Manager and Charity Board of Trustees.
Responsibilities include:
Reinstating the Lunch Clubs.
Effectively and efficiently managing the running of the Lunch Club and its volunteers with the aim of achieving maximum capacity of members each week.
Delivering an enjoyable, relaxing, social atmosphere as well as being aware of the members comfort, health and wellbeing.
Working closely with the other Lunch Club Team Leader and deputising for each other when sick or on leave.
Attending and undertaking all necessary tasks at each Lunch Club event, coordinating volunteers where necessary. This includes setting up and clearing away equipment and furniture, acting as a escort to and from the attending members' transport.
Volunteer recruitment, training and management.
Record keeping for expenditure and financials for the lunch club.
Organising a healthy and nutritious meal for the members attending each Lunch Club event.
Successfully preparing and delivering engaging activities for the members at each Lunch Club.
Maintaining effective communication with members, volunteers, charity Trustees, Chair and General Manager.
(The candidate is not expected to prepare any meals.)
Hours of work will be Monday & Wednesday 09:30 - 14:30 at Fairford Hospital and an additional 6 hours prep flexibly during the week, working remotely. (16 per week in total).
