Skilled Machine Operator / Production Operative (Packaging Industry)

About Us

The successful applicants will join a small and friendly team of committed individuals operating high volume box manufacturing machines. We have been based in Shropshire for over 35 years and have expanded over the last 12 months.

Role & Responsibilities

As a Machine Operator you will be responsible for assisting the set up and running of a packaging manufacturing machine and for the health & safety, quality and performance of the machine.

Adherence to all organisational policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.

Quality check the product on the conveyor system and stack the product to the required amount detailed on each works order

Key Skills & Experience

Although experience of cardboard packaging industry is not essential, we are encouraging those with experience of running case-makers or die-cutting machines to apply.

We offer a training program to those you demonstrate the right aptitude to allow progression through the company.

The ability to maintain a pace throughout the shift.

Have a focus on productivity, taking pride in reducing change over times and increasing machine efficiency and have an understanding about how this affects the overall production flow.

Work as part of a larger production team to ensure that the scheduled jobs are completed in good time so that customer deadlines can be met.

The work involves an amount of manual handling and so a good degree of dexterity and physical fitness is demanded.

The complexity of the work will also demand a good standard of basic education.

Rural location (Ruyton XI Towns), therefore own transport essential.
