Shift Maintenance Electrician - Heavy Industrial Manufacturing
We are seeking a skilled
Shift Maintenance Electrician
to join our team in
Halesowen
, supporting the electrical integrity of machinery and infrastructure in an
extremely heavy industrial
environment. This role is critical to maintaining the performance of our
press forges, heavy forging equipment, and associated systems
, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Provide electrical engineering support for all site machinery and services
Carry out
planned preventive maintenance (PPM)
and
rapid reactive repairs
Diagnose and resolve faults on a wide range of industrial equipment, including:
Heavy forging presses, hammers, and furnaces
CNC and manual machine tools (lathes, millers, borers)
Support
continuous improvement initiatives
and engineering upgrades
Install, maintain, and inspect
high-power electrical infrastructure
Respond swiftly to
unplanned breakdowns
to minimize production downtime
Work flexibly to meet production demands and shift schedules
Mentor apprentices and coordinate with external contractors as needed
Principal Accountabilities
Ensuring
safe, efficient, and effective maintenance practices
Maximizing
machine availability
for production operations
Improving
equipment reliability
and modernizing legacy systems
Maintaining full compliance with
health and safety regulations
Working Relationships
Maintenance and Engineering Teams
Production Operatives and Area Managers
External Contractors and Technical Support
What We're Looking For
City & Guilds or apprenticeship-trained in Electrical Engineering
Strong experience in
heavy industrial or manufacturing environments
Proven ability to troubleshoot
high-power electrical systems
Confidence working with
press forges, heavy machinery, and industrial controls
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Several years of post-qualification experience preferred
