The Role
At Ravensbourne we are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Estates and Facilities team (Technical Services). The post reports to the Assistant Technical Services Manager.
You will keep our campus running smoothly by ensuring our building assets are maintained to the highest standards. You will also carry out both planned preventative maintenance and responsive repairs across a range of systems--from plant and machinery to fixtures, fittings, and the building fabric itself.

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in keeping Ravensbourne's campus safe, functional, and well-maintained.
What You'll Be Doing
Supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all building systems to ensure smooth operation
Responding swiftly to reactive repair needs, helping maintain business continuity
Carrying out decorative work and fabric repairs to uphold the building's appearance and integrity
Taking ownership of issues and acting decisively--especially when working independently on shift
Keeping call ticketing and asset management systems accurate and up to date
Ensuring health and safety standards are upheld throughout the building, including life safety systems
Escorting and supervising external contractors during daily operations
Assisting with building fabric projects and new installations
Participating in shift work as part of the wider maintenance schedule Collaborating with colleagues to complete multi-trade maintenance tasks
Providing access and support for other engineers and tradespeople--such as lifting raised floor tiles or removing ceiling panels
Contributing to fire safety preparedness by serving as part of the Fire Marshal team
Maintaining cleanliness and order in plant rooms and technical areas
The Candidate
You have a good grasp of mechanical and electrical systems-- with experience of fault finding or repairs in big commercial buildings.
You are comfortable meeting with building managers and other team members
You are comfortable with face-to-face interaction.
