Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in the UK. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and maintaining our high standards of quality. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will contribute significantly to our mission of delivering exceptional dessert products.
Responsibilities
Ensure all equipment and fabrication is maintained in a cost effective and timely manner to ensure site is maintained to a standard which does not pose risks to product, staff, contractors, visitors or members of public.
Ensure timely completion of planned maintenance, emergency call outs and repairs.
Control of maintenance contractors: arrange service and repairs, take responsibility for contractors on site to ensure all food safety and health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
Ensure completion of maintenance records in accordance with the (PPM's) maintenance procedures.
Plan the most cost effective and timely provision of spare parts, tools PPE and equipment.
Maintain hygiene and housekeeping with regards to maintenance room and other maintenance and equipment storage areas.
Control maintenance costs in consultation with the Head of Operations.
Promote best working practices in all areas and departments of Destiny Foods.
Ensure effective staff training with regards to equipment.
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with other managers and staff at all levels both informally and by attending regular company meetings.
Ensure all legal requirements with regards to maintenance are met.
Ensure hygiene standards are maintained throughout Destiny Foods.
Commission new equipment in conjunction with the technical department, NPD, Stores and Production.
Responsible for facilitating continuous improvement in the maintenance area and the implementation of improved practices to achieve maximum manufacturing, hygiene, food safety, health and safety performance and service delivery.
Develop close working relationships with colleagues in other functions such as; Production, Stores, Hygiene, Technical and NPD.
Responsible for ensuring all Engineering work conforms to the processes and procedures of the 'Quality Management System' and 'Health and Safety Management System'.
Perform routine maintenance on production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues as they arise.
Read and interpret schematics to assist in maintenance tasks.
Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime during repairs.
Implement preventive maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
Assist in training junior staff on maintenance procedures.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good communication skills in English; supervisory experience is an advantage.
