Overview:



We are seeking a confident and adaptable

Maintenance Shift Engineer

to join our fast-paced production environment. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of our site machinery through proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns.


Key Responsibilities:




Attend and resolve machinery breakdowns during shift. Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across site equipment. Work closely with the Shift Manager to assess and prioritise breakdowns to meet production targets. Operate as the sole engineer on shift, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and issues encountered.

Required Experience & Skills:




Strong background in

electrical and mechanical fault finding

. Experience with

pneumatics, hydraulics, AC/DC motors and controls, chillers, and water systems

. Ability to work independently and make quick, effective decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. To cover shifts due to holidays/Sickness

Desirable:




Previous experience in

extrusion

or similar manufacturing environments.
