Following recent team changes, we're looking to strengthen our maintenance department with a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the continued operational excellence and efficient running of our site.

Summary

As a

Maintenance Engineer

, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our plant and equipment are operating efficiently. You will be responsible for electrical installations, overseeing preventative maintenance schedules, performing repairs, and managing contractors for outsourced services. Your work will directly impact minimizing downtime, ensuring the smooth running of all operations. Flexibility is required for this role, as occasional weekend, overtime, or night shifts may be necessary to meet operational demands.

Key Responsibilities:



Perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance on a diverse range of equipment, including

power presses, welding equipment

, lasers, CNC machines, cutting and forming tools, and surface finishing equipment.

Implement and follow TPM schedules across all plant equipment and tooling, in line with manufacturer guidelines, to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime.

Conduct regular inspections of equipment, carrying out preventative maintenance as needed.

Troubleshoot and fault-find electrical and mechanical breakdowns, resolving issues efficiently, either independently or as part of the team.

Maintain accurate records of all activities, including breakdowns, repairs, and scheduled maintenance, using the

Workmate

Preventative Maintenance System.

Adhere to health and safety protocols during maintenance activities, ensuring a safe working environment for staff, contractors, and visitors, while complying with relevant safety standards.

Coordinate contractor activities on-site, ensuring compliance with the permit-to-work system.

Perform electrical testing and complete necessary work records and test sheets.

Handle emergency and planned repairs to production lines to minimise downtime.

Manage spare parts inventory, raise purchase requisitions, and track stock levels.

Experience

Time-Served Maintenance Engineer/Technician

Experience in Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance on a Range of Plant Equipment and Tools in a Busy Manufacturing Environment

Experience in Wiring and Electrical Equipment Assembly

Mechanical Fitting and Machine Repair

Skills

Multi-skilled Proactive Team Player Resilience Under Pressure Decision Making and Problem Solving Planning and Organisation Adaptability & Immediate Problem Solving Technical Understanding Continuous Improvement Mindset

Qualifications:



NVQ or equivalent in Engineering Maintenance (Electrical Biased)



Electrical Installations (18th Edition)



Driving License



Desirable:



In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT)



IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH Certification



PLC Programming/Diagnostics



Engineering Systems Maintenance



Counterbalance/Forklift Certification



Abrasive Wheel Awareness



Mobile Vertical / Mobile Boom (MEWP Certification)



Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR)



Root Cause Analysis / Fault Finding Methodologies



Data Logging / Condition Monitoring Systems
