Kelvin Road, Wallasey, Wirral, CH44 7DN

Hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 07:00 - 15:30, Friday 07:00 - 12.30. Potential for some flex around core hours

37,500 - 40,000

Job Overview



The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the provision of round the clock response to both mechanical and electrical breakdown repair within the production areas as well as performing general planned preventative maintenance and ongoing project and development work. They will facilitate the best performance from all associated equipment and ensure that breakdowns are responded to and repaired in a safe and secure fashion to enable continuity of work.

Key Responsibilities



Install, maintain, and repair all production equipment such as conveyor systems, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, compressors, dryers

Perform regular checks on all equipment(s) including production lines and maintenance, compressors and power systems.

Identify malfunctioning machines and/or equipment and discuss machine operation variations with operators and management to diagnose problems and repair equipment.

Follow all established safety, health, quality and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.

Perform regular lubrication and checks of all equipment and systems in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules.

Ensuring that management are informed of any parts usage so inventories can be maintained.

Troubleshoot electrical and PLC problems on equipment and make necessary repairs.

Maintain documentation on repairs and preventative maintenance as directed.

Perform all tasks with minimal supervision, in a prompt, safe, efficient, work like manner.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications



Hands on Industrial maintenance experience.

Good basic IT skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Must have strong mechanical background including Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC's, electrical including thermocouples, heating systems, various types of sensor and switches, SSR relays, fans, blowers, three phase motors, etc

Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Able to install machinery, set up and start-up.

Some electrical experience is preferred.
