Community Foods Limited was created in 1971 and is a major supplier of dried fruit, nuts, seeds, pulses, and other ambient stable ingredients to the UK food industry, including a number of market leading brands. With ingredients sales having grown by over 100% since 2009 thanks to the introduction of new suppliers and new customers, Community Foods is one of the largest suppliers of our type of ingredients to the UK market. Community Foods is also a pre-wholesaler as well as acting as agents and brand holders with a portfolio of organic and natural brands, including Crazy Jack Organic Sanchi and Tarantella and operates a packing and dried fruit reprocessing plant in support of these business sectors.
THE ROLE
Performing planned and predictive maintenance.
Responding to breakdowns / helping to overcome technical issues.
Completing raised maintenance requests in timely manner
Undertake effective planning and prioritisation of workload wherever necessary.
Ensure that resources are used to optimum effect.
Understand and operate in line with relevant legislation, Company policy and Company procedures.
Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the company or your manager.
Maintain the required standards of housekeeping. (Clean as you go)
Support other teams and functions as required by the business.
Undertake self-development activities as required by the business.
Undertake any other tasks or duties as required by Engineering Manager.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices operated by the Company.
Liaise with production teams to establish requirements/issues etc.
Conforming to health and safety procedures and policies.
OTHER
Disseminate knowledge and assist in the training of the team
To develop and maintain productive communication links with the production and operational staff
Able to pass on knowledge to other team members and apprentices
Being able to challenge other individuals to follow guidance / rules.
REQUIREMENTS
Ideally Educated to A Level or Equivalent Standard
Ideally Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Diploma or Certification
Ideally time served Maintenance Engineer
Skills and abilities
Relevant experience working in a food production environment
Previous experience of working in similar environment with similar role responsibilities
A good working knowledge and understanding of factory processes and technology.
Previous experience of working towards improving and maintaining quality standards.
Familiar with planned and preventive maintenance.
Able to work between sites.
Welding / Metal Works.
Understanding PPM's, PM, RM.
