OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Sales Engineer to join our CNC machining team in Leeds. This role bridges the gap between engineering and sales, requiring a deep understanding of precision machining processes and the ability to communicate technical solutions to customers across industries such as aerospace, oil & gas, and defense.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Understand customer requirements and translate them into manufacturable solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness of proposed solutions.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to strategic growth initiatives.
  • Provide accurate quotations and lead negotiations through to contract closure.
  • Stay current with industry trends, materials, and machining technologies.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales or engineering within the machining or CNC manufacturing industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CNC machining processes, materials, and tolerances.
  • Proven track record of successful sales and customer relationship management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with clients in aerospace, oil & gas, or defense sectors.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and business development.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
