The Department:
This role sits within the Marketing (and Business Development) Department led by the Head
of Marketing and will report to the Marketing Manager. The team are a closely knit,
hardworking team dealing with a full spectrum of tasks including tenders, bids, proposals,
seminars, events, digital marketing, PR, responsible business and marketing and who is
happy to meet new people and build positive relationships to deliver the tasks in hand.
The Role:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join us as Marketing Assistant
to support our busy Marketing team. This role will suit someone with excellent attention to
detail and who is able to manage a task-based workload with accuracy with an interest in
developing a career in Marketing.
You will have the opportunity to get involved with the full marketing mix role with lots of
support and guidance. The successful candidate will need to be an energetic and focused
individual with the ability to quickly build relationships in a fast-paced environment. The

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
This is not an exhaustive list and from time to time it may be necessary to vary these to
meet the department and business needs
This position supports the Marketing team with business development and marketing
requirements across the firm. Working closely with all members of the Marketing team, this
role will support on all aspects including:

  • Supporting and assisting with the effective day-to-day running of the team by
performing a range of administrative tasks and reporting to ensure work is accurate
and up to date;
  • Assisting with the preparation of name badges and branded items for events and
conferences, as well as data gathering for post reporting;
  • Assist with the efficient delivery of online events: webinars and conferences, collating
and sharing feedback, with the support of the Events Executive;
  • Help to manage website content;
  • Create and updating marketing collateral;
  • Updating marketing and BD Hubs for the intranet;
  • Monitor and replenish stock of promotional items;
  • Help to gather content for internal newsletters;
  • Schedule social media campaigns / posts;
  • Supporting the delivery of thought leaderships campaigns in conjunction with
Business Development;
  • Populating monthly reporting on marketing data to produce reports and track the
value of activity;
  • Assist the team in co-ordinating UK directory, awards and league table submission
processes;
  • Build external relationships with key organisations i.e. Yorkshire Legal Awards and
Northern Housing Awards;
  • Maintain and update marketing data to ensure contact information is up-to-date and
GDPR compliant;
  • Conducting client, competitor, and market research (in preparation for monthly Hot
Topics team meetings);
  • Staff photography - organise staff photo shoots in collaboration with various teams
and the photographer, with the support of the Marketing Executive;
  • Monitor generic Outlook marketing groups in accordance with event requirements.
Person Specification
  • Achieved a 2.2 or above in a Marketing or Business-related undergraduate degree;
  • Previous experience working in a Marketing department, such as during a university
industry placement or internship;
  • Good IT skills (competent in Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Attention to detail to produce work which is consistently of a high standard;
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload;
  • Has a flexible can-do approach;
  • Be keen to identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency and
promoting best practice;
  • Must enjoy working as part of a team and possess excellent communication
