Marketing Copywriter

Bristol, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Stride Treglown is an employee-owned architectural practice and certified B Corp.

Since 1953, we've been clear that great design requires a human approach, deep local knowledge, and specialist expertise--all backed by verified results.

We're now one of the UK's largest architectural practices, with 300+ specialists in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, masterplanning, town planning, building surveying, and graphic design.

Across 9 UK studios, we're embedded in the communities we live and work, bringing imagination and flair to every project--with the technical proficiency to deliver what we design.

About the role

We're looking for a Marketing Copywriter to help bring our brand, work, and purpose to life through compelling and creative storytelling.

You'll play a vital role in shaping how we communicate what we do and why it matters--translating ideas, values, and design-thinking into accessible, engaging, and strategic content.

You'll support all aspects of our marketing and communications efforts, from website and social media content to award entries, in-print publications, and internal messaging. You'll also help evolve our tone of voice--and act as its champion across the practice, helping others write with clarity and consistency.

Storytelling & Brand Communication

Create compelling narratives around our projects and initiatives, focusing on positive social and environmental impact. Translate complex design language into accessible content for different audiences -- always clear, concise, and in plain English. Have fun with words--whether that's crafting snappy headlines and one-liners or writing scripts for video and podcast content. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to uncover and shape powerful brand stories and thought leadership pieces. Champion writing best practice across our studios and offer editorial guidance to colleagues.

Digital & Social Media

Support the evolution of our website--creating and refining copy in line with UX and SEO best practices. Work with our Marketing team to develop engaging, shareable social media content and explore new ways to build engagement and grow reach. Lead the editorial direction of our email marketing (Mailchimp), creating targeted and insightful communications.

Awards & Recognition

Research, draft, and refine winning award submissions that showcase our projects and achievements.

Creative Vision & Industry Insight

Help define and refine our tone of voice across all channels and formats. Collaborate on campaign development--helping to shape marketing vision, themes and messaging. Keep a pulse on emerging industry trends, news, and opportunities that can shape and strengthen our messaging.

You'd be a great fit if you:

Are a natural storyteller with 3-5 years' copywriting or editorial experience--ideally within the built environment or a creative sector--with a portfolio of work. Have an interest in design and a desire to communicate positive impact in the built environment. Have a keen eye for detail with strong editing and proofreading skills. Are an adaptable writer who can tailor messages to different formats and audiences. Are comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a creative team environment with people at all levels in the business. Are very organised and able to work to deadlines.

The team around you

The Marketing Copywriter is part of Stride Treglown's Winning Work team (Marketing, Business Development, Events, Bids, Data and Graphics). The team supports all 9 studios around the UK, 12 specialist services, and 15 different industry sectors.

This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week). You'll ideally be based in our Bristol studio, with the flexibility to work from home part of the week. We are open to you being based in another studio (Bath, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Plymouth, Truro, Winchester), provided you're able to travel to Bristol for team meetings and collaborative tasks.
