We are looking for an experienced, creative and inspirational Marketing Director with a passion for storytelling and building a luxury lifestyle brand both nationally and internationally.
As our new Marketing Director, you'll do more than just market. A natural storyteller, you'll craft compelling narratives that connect emotionally with our guests, partners, and wider community.
From curating elegant campaigns that reflect our luxury ethos, to championing our B-Corp values and purpose-driven mission, you'll bring our story to life across every channel.
You'll be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of brand, digital, content, and partnerships -- someone who can balance data with creativity and heart.
Whether it's a beautifully told guest journey, a stunning refurbishment of a coastal property, a sustainability milestone, or a new local collaboration, you know how to turn moments into movements.
Key Tasks
Develop and execute a multi-channel brand strategy for Cornish Gems and its family of master brands (including Gems Interiors, Gems Shop, Gems Charity), elevating Cornish Gems' share of voice and shaping its identity as a luxury BCorp brand.
Identify new market opportunities (e.g., territories, events), and develop strategic partnerships that drive commercial growth.
Leverage Cornish Gems' market track record to drive customer retention and grow the database.
Manage brand promotions and positioning, overseeing content creation and distribution to ensure brand stories reach the right audiences at the right time.
Ensure diversity and inclusivity are thoughtfully considered and communicated throughout all marketing activity.
Develop and implement an engaging internal and owner communications strategy.
Lead and mentor the marketing team, overseeing output from both internal staff and external agencies.
Ensure robust reporting, attribution, and optimisation of all marketing activity, providing clear updates to the Managing Director, founders, and board.
Collaborate with technology, interior design, portfolio, and guest experience teams to ensure a unified and consistent brand story across all touchpoints.
Drive guest forums to evaluate and understand what the brand means to guests and property owners.
Champion and elevate our B Corp accreditation, integrating its values into all communications.
Own the marketing budget and provide regular updates and strategic insights to the leadership team.
Key
Knowledge & Capabilities
Proven experience working with luxury brands in both UK and international markets. Experience in travel and interiors preferred.
Degree in Marketing or equivalent (e.g., CIM Level 6 Diploma).
5+ years in a senior marketing role, ideally in hospitality or interiors.
CIPR or CIM membership preferred.
Track record of driving sales growth and market share in tough economic conditions.
Confident team leader with experience managing in-house teams and external agencies.
Skilled communicator, adept at presenting marketing strategies and results to a diverse range of stakeholders.
Proficient with modern marketing tools (e.g. Gemini) to drive performance.
Creative yet commercially focused, with a passion for impactful, KPI-driven campaigns.
Deep understanding of luxury branding and a strong connection to Cornwall and its community.
