- We are seeking a creative, experienced, and motivated marketing professional to operate as the hub of marketing initiatives, collaborating across company functions to brainstorm, refine, and execute strategies that elevate the brand recognition and stimulate client inquiries.
- The successful candidate will also be involved in the development of all marketing materials around new products, marketing campaigns, exhibitions, and local events. This is very much a hands-on role and as well as being self-motivated, you will work as part of a close-knit team.
- River Cottage is a multi-faceted business with a cafe, cookery school, accommodation and events space hosting weddings, parties and corporate events. We are looking for someone to work across all these areas, engaging and selling to our existing audience, whilst also having a deep focus on developing a new audience. You will be commercially minded focussing on increasing sales through digital and traditional marketing, striving to hit targets and delivering a strong ROI.
- We aim to provide a great place to work and blended working form's part of our flexible and inclusive approach to future ways of working. It is an informal arrangement which gives you the option to work some of the week from home and some of the week from River Cottage, subject to role requirements business need and regular review. This role requires regular and sometimes short notice visits to site to capture content at events and key moments in the business. The successful candidate will also be involved in the development and production of all marketing materials both physical and online around new products, marketing campaigns, exhibitions, and local events.
Job Role:
- Working across a wide range of channels including social media, mailers, website, press releases, magazines and local engagement through leaflets and posters.
- Conduct or commission research to understand audiences, competitors and market trends, applying insights to campaigns.
- Work closely with wedding coordinator to plan and execute marketing campaigns for weddings, ensuring consistent messaging & engagement.
- Produce, edit and publish engaging written and visual content, including social posts, newsletters, blogs, press releases, photography and video assets.
- Collaborate with cookery tutors, chefs and other experts to create engaging films and photographic content for digital and offline channels.
- Lead the social media presence, driving interaction and cultivating growth across various platforms with a clear development of a social media calendar and campaign.
- Collaborate with the sales team to generate content for posts and advertising.
- Cultivate and maintain a strong, positive public image for River Cottage by ensuring brand consistency across all communication channels, materials.
- Monitor and report on marketing performance metrics.
- Manage marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Make sure 50% of your working time is spent onsite at events, weddings etc...
What we are looking for:
- Experienced in all areas of marketing both traditional and digital
- Experience managing websites in a sales / retail focussed business
- Experience of running online ads, social media campaigns, affiliate marketing and up to date with the latest online trends and developments
- A creative outlook with demonstrable skills of creating content for online channels.
- Good copy writing and proof-reading skills and an eye for detail
- An understanding of the River Cottage philosophy and the range of products on offer
- A relevant degree together with 3- 5 years' work experience
