We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse, ensuring that materials are handled, stored, and distributed effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse processes and the ability to operate various equipment safely.
Responsibilities
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload goods.
Manage the movement of materials within the warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory levels.
Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including checking shipments for accuracy and quality.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Assist with heavy lifting and transporting materials as required.
Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage stock levels efficiently.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
Qualifications
Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of materials handling processes.
Proficiency in operating forklifts; certification is an advantage.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems for tracking inventory is beneficial.
Mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Experience in construction or related fields is a plus.
Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the shift.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are essential for success in this role. Overview
The role involves carefully moving parts from transport stillages into line stillages with a forklift and overhead crane.
Ability to work as part of a team and a great attitude is key.
Applicants require a current counterbalance forklift licence and ideally at least 1 years' experience.
Overhead gantry crane experience is desirable but not essential as training can be given.
Afternoon shifts have an extra 1.23 shift allowance on basic hours.
Salary: 12.21 per hour
These rates increase after your 6-month probationary period.
