About the Role

At Harmony Fire, our work saves lives. As a Pre-Construction Estimator, you will shape the commercial success of our projects by producing accurate, detailed quotations and identifying opportunities to maximise value. From fire protection systems to wider M&E packages, you will combine technical understanding with commercial acumen to deliver solutions that protect people and drive growth.



This role is for someone with ambition, attention to detail, and the drive to move beyond the ordinary. We want an A-Player - a confident estimator who thrives on accuracy, negotiation, and helping clients see the added value Harmony brings.


Key Responsibilities

Produce accurate, timely quotations and estimates aligned with client specifications and supply chain input Maximise sales and gross profit by identifying creative commercial opportunities while maintaining client trust Collaborate closely with surveyors, designers, and the delivery team to ensure complete, buildable solutions Negotiate with suppliers to secure best value and maintain strong relationships across the supply chain Support client communication, including weekly updates, meetings, and contract reviews where required Ensure every estimate is backed up with detail, compliance, and clear documentation - nothing left to chance Lead and contribute to handovers, ensuring the delivery team has everything needed for seamless execution Train and mentor surveyors, estimators, and new starters, embedding the Harmony methodology and playbook Act as second-in-command for the Pre-Construction Manager when required, taking ownership of key responsibilities Identify and mitigate risk during the pre-construction phase to protect both project and business outcomes

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in estimating - ideally within M&E or fire protection, though wider construction considered Strong commercial acumen - able to balance profit with long-term client relationships Skilled negotiator who can justify pricing, demonstrate added value, and win client confidence Detail-driven, accurate, and methodical - a do it right first time mindset Confident communicator with the ability to influence both internally and externally Ambitious, proactive, and resilient - someone who sees this as a career step, not just a job Comfortable mentoring others and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement Strong product and buildability knowledge with a commitment to ongoing learning
