Job Description

The Queen's School, a small independent girls' school, is currently seeking reliable and responsible Minibus Drivers to start in September 2025. We have two morning routes and one afternoon route available, each offering up to 15 hours per week during term time.

We welcome applications from candidates interested in either a single shift (morning or afternoon) or a split shift, which would total up to 30 hours per week. Please note that actual working hours will be confirmed and amended to reflect the specific route assigned.

The role involves transporting pupils safely and punctually to and from school. Applicants must hold a valid driving licence with the appropriate category and demonstrate a strong commitment to pupil safety and well-being.

The Role

You will be responsible for transporting pupils to and from School and taking reasonable measures to safeguard passengers at all times and conducting necessary checks and inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy prior to travel.

Essential Requirements

A full, clean and valid UK driving licence with D1 or D entitlement*
Proven experience of driving a minibus, HGV or PSV*
Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills*
Willingness to be flexible in working arrangements and work at short notice if the need arises*
Initiative to plan their own work schedule*
Capability to maintain accurate vehicle and user records*
Competent to undertake daily and weekly vehicle checks and carry out basic maintenance*
Commitment to the safeguarding of children and young people*

Salary

Salary will be paid in line with the National Minimum Wage.
