Role Overview:

Boys and Boden have an exciting opportunity available for a Mechanic based from our Welshpool Head Office to cover some of the Service, Maintenance and repair requirements of our fleet as well as driver cover for all of our branches and companies.

We are looking for someone to join our friendly team to work in assoctiation with the Transport Manager.

This is a brand new role for Boys and Boden and we are looking for someone with relevant training and experience in a similar role.

You will be provided with a company vehicle and basic tools, parts and more. We will provide uniform, a mobile phone and other kit to complete your daily tasks and additional training as required.

Salary: will be dependent on experience and qualifications and discussed at interview stage.

Fleet size

: 25 HGVs, 52 Forklifts/Telescopic/Combi lifts, 12 Vans/Pickup Trucks

Locations

: Chester, Shrewsbury, Welshpool, Newtown and Llandrindod Wells

Duties:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment as directed Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues Repair or replace faulty components, such brakes, hydraulic hoses, basic wiring and suspension systems Conduct monthly inspections to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed Collaborate with other mechanical suppliers and team members to complete tasks efficiently Provide Holiday cover for all branches as required

Skills

Proven experience as a mechanic or in a similar role Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills to effectively interact with customers and colleagues

Qualifications: one or more of below or similar:

Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Competence Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance T Level in Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing Class 2 HGV Driving Entitlement Current CPC
