The UK Model Risk Management team is hiring a Model Validation Assistant to ensure models used across the bank are fit for purpose.

The role of the successful candidate will consist in helping the team managing the validation of the Derivative Pricing, Market & Counterparty Credit risks related models, and associated monitoring and controls, and submission to model approval committees in accordance with the firm model risk policies and governance.

Supporting Market Risk models validation and control and the delivery of strategic initiatives by working collaboratively with other key business areas, and clearly communicate what is realistically achievable to stakeholders and manage expectations

Contributing to the creation, communication, execution, and maintenance of \xe2\x80\x9cthe Model Plan\xe2\x80\x9d, and collaborate within and outside teams to deliver to plans and support the presentation of findings at relevant forums and committees

Being a visible point of contact for model validation issues and develop good quality relations with stakeholders from model developer, model user, and model owner teams to support the overall validation strategy and discuss findings

Managing the migration of all Market Risk related validation materials under the centralised Model Risk folder; monitor validation recommendations and ensure that incidents and issues are identified quickly and escalated immediately

Assisting with the maintenance and management of a comprehensive and up-to-date model inventory (MoNet), and ensure that model risks are effectively highlighted such that they can be remedied prior to any regulatory or audit penalty being imposed

Representing the Head of Market Risk Model Validation at various (including strategic) meetings making sure that Model Validation voice is heard; support with Audit requests, respond to queries from stakeholders, including Group, and investigate breaches

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Good interpersonal skills; the ability to develop and maintain relationships across departments and geographical locations.

Excellent organiser and project planning skills required combined with a solid knowledge of in work management and team collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence or equivalent.

It would also be nice for you to have.

A good understanding of financial markets and products coupled with a familiarity with GitLab, and Latex

Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements such as Basel 3.1, SS1/23, FRTB

A MBA or degree level education in a quantitative field would be advantageous but not strictly necessary.
