Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Delivery:
Plan and deliver structured and progressive sports and cricket coaching sessions tailored to the age and ability of the children.
Develop engaging and fun activities that promote skill development, physical fitness, and enjoyment.
Adapt coaching methods to meet the individual needs of children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
Safety and Welfare:
Ensure the safety of all participants by conducting risk assessments and adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain a safe and positive learning environment, promoting respect and fair play.
Be aware of and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Administer basic first aid when required
Communication and Engagement:
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Provide constructive feedback to children, encouraging their development and progress.
Build positive relationships with children, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
Encourage parent involvement.
Equipment and Resources:
Maintain and manage sports and cricket equipment, ensuring it is safe and in good condition.
Set up and dismantle equipment as required.
Professional Development:
Stay up-to-date with current coaching techniques and best practices.
Attend relevant training and development opportunities.
Maintain accurate attendance records.
Person Specification: Sports and Cricket Coach (Children)
Essential Criteria:
Proven experience in coaching sports and cricket to children.
Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., Level 1 or 2 cricket coaching, multi-sports qualifications).
Valid First Aid certificate.
Valid Safeguarding children certificate.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to plan and deliver engaging and effective coaching sessions.
Strong knowledge of sports and cricket techniques and rules.
Ability to adapt coaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills.
