Due to further expansion, we are looking for another team member to join our National Hire desk in our Birmingham location.

As a National Hire Controller, you will be responsible for efficiently managing large customer accounts and their requests across Summit Platforms' depot network. You will ensure that exceptional service standards and supporting both customers and depot teams.

Key Responsibilities:



Handle incoming hire enquiries from national and key account customers via phone, email, and internal systems. Liaise with depots across the UK to check equipment availability and ensure timely fulfilment of hire requests. Build and maintain strong relationships with national account managers, depot managers, and operations teams. Provide accurate hire quotations and follow up on outstanding quotes to convert opportunities. Assist in resolving service issues, delivery discrepancies, or breakdowns promptly and professionally. Producing and reporting on commercial performance across the business, with a focus on supporting the sales team

Skills & Experience Required:



Previous experience in a hire controller, rental coordinator, or customer service role within the plant or powered access hire industry is preferred. Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proactive and customer-focused attitude. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Good geographical knowledge of the UK IT literate - familiar with hire management software, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Team player with a solution-driven approach.
