Job Description

We're looking for a dedicated and reliable Night Porter to join our team at The Marcliffe. This key role supports the overnight operations of our five-star property, ensuring a welcoming environment, safety, and excellent service for our guests throughout the night.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a professional, close-knit team in one of Scotland's most prestigious hotel settings. The role reports to the Night Manager.

ABOUT THE ROLE



As Night Porter, your responsibilities will include:

Ensuring the safety, welfare, and comfort of all guests overnight Carrying out regular floor walks, fire exit checks, car park patrols, and public area inspections Supporting late-night guest needs, including bar service and room service for residents Assisting with set-up and servicing of event rooms and housekeeping duties Handling basic reception tasks such as answering calls and ensuring accurate billing Monitoring hotel security and reporting any irregularities or safety concerns Maintaining clear corridors and public areas overnight Supporting the closure of the bar and escorting guests to rooms if required Following cash handling and safe procedures in line with hotel policy Responding promptly and professionally to guest enquiries

ABOUT YOU



We're looking for someone who is:

Customer service focused with a warm and professional manner Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently overnight Well-presented, with excellent communication skills Physically fit and able to remain on your feet for extended periods Strong on attention to detail, organisation, and timekeeping Flexible, calm under pressure, and confident making decisions Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential

Additional desirable qualifications include

:

First Aid, Health & Safety, Fire Warden certification Manual handling experience for event room set-up

SALARY & BENEFITS
