Overall Purpose:
To be responsible for the safety and security of the hotel and its guests, with key responsibility for porterage, cleaning of public areas, and the breakdown and set up as required of function rooms to meet the requirements of the day to day operation of the hotel
Key Duties/Responsibilities
Hours of work are generally 10.30pm - 7.30am by rotating shifts over seven days a week
To ensure a full handover is completed with the reception staff at the beginning and end of the shift.
To check in late arrivals
To serve residents in the bar when needed
Set up function rooms
Set up tea and coffee stations
To store conference equipment not in use.
To complete statutory fire checks.
To manage guest enquiries
To assist with luggage
To clear the bar and lounge areas and vacuum as required.
To set up conference rooms and coffee stations if requested
To order, collect and deliver newspapers to all guests as requested.
To provide room service, preparing and serving food to company standard.
To tidy back of house areas as required
To assume responsibility for keys, cash and floats left in possession.

Health & Safety
To fully understand the fire evacuation procedure in the hotel and the Porters role in that procedure.
To comply with all health, safety, fire, COSHH and Security procedures.
To be aware of and comply with the company policy relating to hygiene, health and safety
To carry out reasonable duties requested by management
To inform Nights Manager of any complaint or irregularities within the Hotel.
