Rowton Castle is a family-owned wedding venue located in the Shropshire countryside, not far from the market town of Shrewsbury. We love what we do and have had the pleasure of helping thousands of couples get married over the last 20 years - we genuinely want for our couples to have the best wedding day, and it shows.

the role

Joining our team as our part time night manager, you will be responsible for the castle and its guests from 11pm through to 7am, 2 nights a week.

Covering an addition 28 nights, providing holiday across the year would also be expected. Nights of work can vary, depending on the needs of the business.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Ensuring the highest standard of service and care is provided for guests at all times Break down and clean-up of any used function rooms and public spaces Preparing for the following day's business with the set-up of the function spaces and the breakfast room Security and floor checks Dealing with complaints, problem solving, disturbances and special requests and any other matters that arise; you are the manager on duty of the hotel and guests will call from their rooms Enforcement of fire safety procedures (if required)
Do be aware that a considerable amount of physical work is involved in the break down and set up of the function spaces, tables and chairs will need to be moved.

The ideal candidate will:

Be of a hardworking nature and comfortable with working alone Have excellent customer service skills Be able to demonstrate ability for accuracy and thoroughness - attention to detail really is key! Be observant in their work environment Have great problem solving skills and diplomacy Possess immaculate presentation standards
You will be working when the castle is at its quietest; it should go without saying that the ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys their own company, is able to work independently and is excellent at managing time.
