We are currently looking for a confident and friendly Night Porter to join the Front Office Night team at SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel. This is a

permanent, part-time position, 24 hours per week,

working 3 nights over 7. Shift times are 9.30pm to 6am.

We offer a

competitive salary of 12.60 per hour plus gratuities

and excellent employee benefits.
Gratuities (tips) are an additional charge added onto services and are paid to all employees on a pro-rata basis regardless of your role. The amount is not guaranteed and is depended on service charge paid.*

Based at the heart of the hotel, the Night Porter provides the warm and authentic Scottish welcome to all of our guests. You are responsible for the first and last impression for our guests and to ensure the guests in-house journey is a consistent guest service experience from arrival through to departure.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Ensure every guest that arrives overnight is provided with a warm welcome to the hotel and estate

Assist guests with their luggage needs for late arrivals and early departures, working closely with the Night and evening team to ensure a smooth service

Assist guests with directions and information regarding SCHLOSS Roxburghe's activities, services, hours of operation and local areas of interest

Engage and interact with our guests creating magical and memorable moments during the time at SCHLOSS Roxburghe

Valet park our guests cars and complete airport transfers when required

Attend to guest requests and requirements throughout their stay, adding your personal recommendations and touches

Manage errands including deliveries and collections from guest rooms overnight

Show your creativity and think outside of the box to create an exceptional guest experience

Support the Housekeeping team overnight by performing basic housekeeping tasks including but not limited to; changing towels, performing turndown service and assisting with room moves

Provide in-room dining service overnight and early breakfast deliveries

Ensure that all Front of House areas, including outside, are clean and clear of debris

Refill all Front of House stock in preparation for the morning teams arrival

Recognise that operations must run 24 hours, 7 days a week, without interruption

A high level of confidentiality and discretion towards guests and colleagues is to be maintained at all times

Your Knowledge & Capabilities:

Have a warm and welcoming smile and a positive attitude

You are friendly, courteous, and helpful

You are an excellent communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels

You are enthusiastic and can build genuine and trusting relationships with guests and colleagues

You are knowledgeable about the local area

You are a night owl and available to work overnight

Proven Experience/Qualifications:

Experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in a comparable position or industry, desirable

Experience in a customer or guest facing role desirable

Full, current and clean driving UK driver's licence is essential
