We are seeking a friendly and efficient Kitchen Staff with Barista experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting the community in providing a range of light lunches as well as serving teas/coffees and home-made cakes to the customers. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within the food and beverage industry, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all customers. It also provides supervisory opportunities in supporting the various learning disabled volunteers working at the coffeeshop. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who thrive on teamwork, attention to detail, and maintaining high standards of food safety.
Responsibilities
Lead the food preparation during the kitchen opening hours of 11.30am to 2.30pm.
Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure hygiene standards are met at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including cleaning equipment and utensils regularly.
Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service throughout their visit.
Handle card and cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale system with precision.
Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, cups, lids, and utensils.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
Experience
Basic
food preparation
skills are beneficial for assisting with light meal assembly or snack preparation.
Knowledge of
food safety
standards is advantageous to maintain hygiene compliance.
Previous
barista experience
is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Experience in
serving
customers in a fast-paced environment to help deliver excellent service under pressure.
Strong
time management
