Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the leadership team within a healthcare or social care setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills and a compassionate approach to patient and client care. This role involves overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring high standards of service delivery across various specialised areas including assisted living, dementia care, and home care. The Deputy Manager will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and person-centred environment for all service users.

Responsibilities



Assist the Manager in coordinating and supervising daily operations within the facility or service. Lead and support a team of care staff, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Oversee patient or client care plans, including medication administration, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and working with people with disabilities. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff. Support case management activities, including assessments and documentation of individual needs. Facilitate training programmes for staff on topics such as senior care, hospice care, ICU procedures, anatomy knowledge, and laboratory protocols. Manage staffing rotas to ensure adequate cover for all shifts while promoting team development and morale. Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive patient or resident care. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.

Experience



Proven experience in assisted living environments or nursing homes with exposure to senior care and dementia management. Demonstrable supervisory or team management experience within healthcare or social care settings. Experience working with children, including toddler care or working with individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient safety procedures. Familiarity with case management processes and medical imaging or laboratory experience is advantageous. Prior experience in hospice care or ICU settings is desirable but not essential. Strong understanding of anatomy and medical terminology relevant to patient care environments.
