We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable cook to join our small but busy nursery.
The nursery cook is responsible for planning and preparing meals for the children, their duties include:
creating healthy, nutritious and varied menus for the children, catering for allergies and dietary requirements
being responsible for ordering and taking the delivery of food for the week
completing opening and closing checks on the kitchen
cleaning the kitchen and equipment used at the end of each shift
upholding food hygiene standards in line with 'safer food better business'
undergoing relevant training - food hygiene, allergy awareness, safeguarding training, first aid etc
being responsible for the day-today running of the kitchen ensuring compliance with our registration and legislative requirements at all times
The nursery cook will be required to work 5 days per week, creating a 2-course cooked lunch and preparing the afternoon tea for the children.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Cook or similar role
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a kitchen environment
- Strong understanding of food safety principles
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Previous experience is desirable.
