Job Summary


We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as our Nursery Cook. We are pleased to offer a 5food rating and boast a newly fitted Kitchen. The ideal candidate will be committed to maintaining high standards of food safety. This role is essential in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering exceptional meals to our children.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking. A full and relevant level 3 in Advanced Food Hygiene plus Allergy Awareness is desirable; training is also offered inhouse.

Hours of Work



part-time post based on 27.5 hours per week spread across 5 working days. Actual hours/days are as directed by the Nursery Manager

Responsibilities



Ensuring all children's safeguarding, welfare, and Dietary needs are met at all times. To be responsible for our nursery kitchen and its hygiene and routine working from the SFBB Working in partnership with and supporting the, Senior Management and Nursery Manager to ensure the daily running and delivery of food each day runs smoothly To take ownership of your kitchen space and ensure that all risk assessments are carried out daily Supervising all staff accessing the kitchen. Supporting all staff by implementing SFBB and ensuring the pack is complete to the highest of standards. Liaising with the Deputy/Manager in organizing your kitchen. Attending regular meetings with the Deputy/Manager, and participating in staff meetings Providing feedback to the Deputy/Manager on issues relating to the kitchen. Addressing all children's dietary needs or requirements. To record temperatures daily of fridges, freezers, and cooked or reheated meats. Keeping and monitoring SFBB and ensuring all paperwork is always ready and handy for HSE Offering all children equal opportunities about their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background, in particular, challenge situations where racism or discrimination is displayed. Attending our 2 open days each year which normally fall on a weekend day. Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Deputy Manager or Nursery Manager Adhering to and understand all nursery policies, implementing them in the everyday running of the nursery. Ensuring you always hold the relevant qualifications needed to run a kitchen Positive management of your own personal development. Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen is of utmost importance always clean as you go. Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records Supervision/ preparation of meals and mealtimes and, where appropriate, preparation of baby's bottles Laundry duties Lunch cover each day at 12 noon each day. To be well presented at all times To be punctual and reliable To work as part of a team To ensure that all children have a healthy and nutritional diet whilst at nursery
