Nursery Deputy Manager

to support the Manager to lead our dynamic team in delivering outstanding care and education for children.

As a Deputy Manager, you will provide professional leadership to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery while maintaining the highest standards of care, education, and compliance. You will play a vital role in supporting staff development, fostering a nurturing environment for children, and promoting the nursery to prospective families through open days and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Management

: Lead and motivate staff to deliver exceptional childcare and learning experiences.

EYFS Compliance

: Ensure the nursery consistently meets the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements.

Safety & Safeguarding

: Maintain a safe environment and ensure all staff understand and adhere to safeguarding protocols.

Special Needs Support

: Champion inclusion and support children with special needs.

Health & Safety

: Oversee compliance with health and safety policies, ensuring all staff have the appropriate first aid and safety training.

Staff Development

: Induct, support, and train team members, conducting regular appraisals to uphold high-quality practices.

Child Development

: Create an enriching environment for children to thrive in their early years through stimulating and age-appropriate activities.

Marketing & Engagement

: Actively promote the nursery, participate in open days, and liaise with families to maintain strong relationships.

Requirements



A hands-on, proactive approach to childcare management. Strong knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted requirements. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team. Experience in safeguarding and health & safety protocols. A valid Enhanced DBS Disclosure or willingness to complete one. Min QQI Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent. Min 3 year nursery experience Min 1 year in a leadership role in a nursery

Nursery Practice: 3 years (required) Nursery Leadership: 1 year (preferred)
