Nursery Deputy Manager - Walthamstow

Full time - 40 hours

Salary up to 35

Supernumerary role

Purpose

To work alongside the manager to ensure smooth running of the nursery and maintain high standards. To be responsible for set tasks delegated by the Nursery Manager. To ensure all legislation in relation to registration with regulatory bodies, child protection, health and safety and SEND is complied with and that company policies and procedures are adhered to. To manage staff within the nursery, improve practice and support the nursery team. To manage the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager.

-Assist the manage in providing effective day to day management of the nursery.

-Assist the manager by carrying out effective inductions, regular supervisions and appraisals of all staff members.

-Assist the manager in maintaining budgets through purchase orders, invoicing etc.

- in the absence of the manager to communicate where needed with the owners

-identify staff training needs

-plan and deploy staff to maintain the efficient running of the nursery

-implement all policies and procedures

-resolving any difficulties that arise

-be approachable for staff

-carry out all reasonable requests by your manager.

-when and where necessary, carry out investigations, disciplinary and grievance meetings.

-assist with recruitment and maintaining low staff retention levels.

-develop team working skills to strengthen the team

-ensure new decisions are taken on board and always maintained in the room.

-ensure staff are up to date with all essential and required information

-chair staff meetings and room meetings

-to motivate the staff team in achieving setting objectives and vision.

They are paying a salary of 35k for a Level 3 Early Deputy Manager.
